"My sincere thanks to the SCCA for inviting me to judge, also my stewards for all their work and finally to the exhibitors for honouring me by allowing me to go over their dogs. Considering that for most of the dogs, this was possibly their first ever show, or certainly the first for a very long time, the behaviour was magnificent. You should be very proud of your dogs. Temperaments were, as I would expect, exemplary.

A couple of points that concern me and do need to be watched. Firstly the correct 9:10 ratio is altering giving the dogs an elongated appearance. The heads on some dogs are far too strong, especially with regard to stop and flews. Some almost have heads I would expect on a St Bernard. And finally, please, stop running the dog around the ring with a taut lead. A Newf should move with head down and drive. They cannot run properly with their heads pointing to the sky. Rant over. I had a wonderful day and thank you all most sincerely. Always remember that everyone went home with the best dog in the world."
